It is likely that someone will only ever sell their business once. People generally start a business through either having a skill or identifying a gap in a market, very few people enter business with a distinct vision of when they want to exit and therefore the decision to sell is driven by other events.

In these circumstances the value achieved on the sale is unlikely to be maximised and therefore a prospective Vendor should ask the question; “how can I maximise the value of my business?” and “who can help?”
